Randolph College | Martin Science Renovations
Project Details
In Association with VMDO Architects, P.C.
The renovation of Randolph College’s Martin Science Building is revitalizing this 38,000-square-foot historic facility to meet the demands of modern STEM education. The project includes structural upgrades to create advanced laboratories, updated classrooms, and collaborative spaces that foster hands-on learning and research.
The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are being completely replaced, and a new, energy-efficient HVAC system is being installed to enhance functionality and comfort. A key feature of the renovation is the state-of-the-art organic chemistry lab, equipped with advanced fume hoods and glass walls to ensure safety and visibility. Accessibility improvements, including the addition of a new elevator and a reconfigured entrance on Norfolk Avenue, are also being incorporated.
To minimize disruption, construction is being completed in phases, with major work scheduled during academic breaks. Once complete, the Martin Science Building will provide Randolph College with a modern, sustainable facility that reflects its commitment to academic excellence and innovation in STEM education.
