In one of its largest commitments to date, the CENTRA Foundation is providing $6.4 million dollars to fund and operate the new 5th street
Community Health Center. The 5th Street corridor is historically the African-American medical corridor in Lynchburg. In addition to providing
medical and social services to thousands who currently lack access to healthcare and social services, this facility was designed to also be
instrumental in revitalization of this area. The 19,250 square foot building will have 18 medical exam rooms, 5 counseling rooms, a community meeting room, conference room, office space, lab and pharmacy. A shell has been provided to house x-ray services in the future. CENTRA is providing a model facility that is already attracting interest from other medical communities.
